Kids Corner

The Santa Fe Extension Master Gardener Garden Fair plans a Kids Corner for parents and their children. Educational exhibits will include themes of herbs, leaves, and beneficial insects, along with related craft projects. There will be a parent/child scavenger hunt with five things to find at the Garden Fair and prizes for completing the scavenger hunt cards. There will also be a seed-planting activity for children to take home and grow.

Kids and families will also want to visit our Pollinator Corner at the Garden Fair. There, you’ll learn about the life and decline of honeybees and native pollinators and what you can do to help. Our Pollinator Corner table overflows with information about beekeeping, honeybees, native bees, and other pollinators. Our “observation hive” with plexiglass windows provides visitors with a close-up view of the inner workings of an active beehive with brood and attendant bees—without fear of being stung.
