Herb Garden

Project Description
The Herb Demonstration offers examples of useful herbs that are successful in our northern New Mexico climate, ranging from culinary annuals to aromatic and culinary perennials. Visitors are invited to tour the garden and can find a complete list of plantings at the garden entrance. In addition, Master Gardeners are present during our Annual Garden Fair & other public events during the course of the year. We offer workshops on how to harvest and preserve herbs, while developing the current garden into an attractive and useful public space. The Herb Demonstration Garden, located at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds adjacent to the Cooperative Extension Office, is maintained by volunteers of the Santa Fe Extension Master Gardeners.
Project Goals
We are constantly working to beautify and enhance the existing Herb Garden, creating infrastructure as needed to make the garden a destination for educational visits, relaxation and contemplation. Every year we expand the current repertoire of herbs under cultivation according to the specific interest of project members.
